Here's the video of Matt Nelson that Dylan refers to...

Are the 2nd and 5th photos the “after”?

Are the 2nd and 5th photos the “after”? I believe so.

BTW, I have no idea what's happening here, or who's telling the truth. I'm barely paying attention. I'm just shoving data in this thread whenever I find it. I will say this, Dylan isn't doing himself any favors with the way he's presenting his case. He should have clearly labeled, high resolution, before and after photos (at a minimum) for a claim such as this. He doesn't, and his narrative is very confusing. I believe he stated that CGC said that his photos were "less than convincing," or something to that effect. At this point, I'd have to agree.

I have been paying attention and there’s not too much more to add. We haven’t seen additional pictures of the first book, let alone the second. Anybody who went against Dylan on IG had their posts deleted and were blocked. “nerdy_girl_comics” posted responses to Dylan from her page and got support that things didn’t seem on the level with Dylan’s story. He mentioned he presses books for high end clients, but had the AF’s done by someone else, but not saying who. Joeypost(CFP) and a few others after examining the photos speculated that damage was done during a press/disassembly and was why there seemed to be additional damage along the spine and extra creasing not in the original “clear” photos, and Dylan is trying to lay blame on CGC for his mistakes. Dylan replied in a few IG videos and rambled about what is and isn’t restoration, but refusing to show additional photos or answer questions. Dylan just keeps making himself look worse and worse. After several hours I believe most were fatigued and weary of the subject, and we were treated with multiple images of Dylan as comic relief.

There are situations, especially when a cover or CF is hanging on by the smallest amount of real estate, where a full book press is too dangerous. In those situations, disassembly and full wrap pressing is the proper course of action. Of course, that requires skill and experience, and threading the staples back through all those tiny holes isn't easy. It's certainly possible that additional damage occurred in this step, and that the cover was not really attached, just pushed under the staple for cosmetic purposes. But this is all just speculation, we have no irrefutable evidence that proves he did this.
I will say this, Dylan severely damaged his credibility in the Custom Label fiasco that he was involved. Even though it was ultimately CGC's error that allowed it to happen, he came across as a bad actor and has been paddling against the current ever since. I'll bet CGC wishes they hadn't locked that thread.

That Romeo guy who can put faces on gifs is awesome! It's pretty cool. You can make your own in 5 minutes or so. Google "deep fake" and you'll find half a dozen websites that will let you do it online for free.

I don't see how these are the same book. The pictures and angles he used makes it difficult to compare the two.

I don't see how these are the same book. The pictures and angles he used makes it difficult to compare the two. I think they're the same book, but I agree he doesn't make it easy to tell. I looked at all the pics he posted on IG and it's a mess. He doesn't have them labeled, so people are asking which book is which and is it before or after...total mess. I decided I wasn't going to waste my time trying to figure it out if he couldn't be bothered to make it coherent. linkSo, it looks like 427Impaler was the presser/dry cleaner. He stated the books were intact before and after he worked on them. They were then shipped back to Dylan, and he forwarded them to CGC.

I'm almost caught up on that thread. I did see the pictures showing the similarities and agree that it appears to be the same book.
