Jurgens isn't bad, in general. This looks like him thinking, "hey, what if I try drawing a radically different perspective shot? I've never actually done anything like this before but how hard could it be?"

This looks like really, really, really bad fan art.

Some of his X-men covers are really boring, but I also like his work. His cover for #175 is one of my favorite Xmen covers.

I don't like to say any artwork sucks, because "eye of the beholder" and all that, but for me the Kelley Jones Batman is either hit or miss. Some I think are really cool, and others...bleahh!. Examples - Dislikes #492, 531 Likes #493 , 544 bbbbbbbbAlso, not too fond of the artwork that was used in Marvel's Mangaverse. Specifically I had picked up the FF/Iron Man "Big In Japan" mini series back when, and was completely turned off. One of the worst Hulks ever. His left arm, and those legs I always liked that cover but I guess I never looked at it closely. Now I can't unsee the odd proportions.

Jones, Wrightson, and Vigil's best work have been on horror books. When they try to do superhero books the art just doesn't look right.

Kane is awesome, but at times (during the Bronze Age, anyway) his covers had these issues. My amateur artistic knowledge suggests to me he starts big and runs out of room, and that suggests to me he doesn't rough out the drawing. I could be way off on the latter, but limbs often appear squeezed or missing sections. I don't recall that being an issue with his interiors only the covers for a book he isn't otherwise involved with.

To be fair, I was never able to find 2 seashells that are the same size, either. Anyway, they didn't need to be in this case, so it's really a non issue, I suppose. The fish in the first panel is pretty good.
