Just got this in my email- It's a rough for a commission I set up recently. I don't think I mentioned this to anyone, so I thought it might be fun for people to make a guess at who the artist is.

I found a scan of a Ron Lim pencil drawing online, and "inked" it on my Wacom Cintiq pad.

It's a separate pad, or screen roughly the size of a laptop display that plus into the computer, and with a screen pen I'm able to switch from different types of "brush", "pen", and "pencil" effects. It is EXTREMELY more forgiving than pen and paper, but just not as fulfilling in terms of accomplishment. We're of the generation that "needs" the paper in hand.

Picked up a few things this year as can be seen in my CAF www.comicartfans.com/gallerydetail.asp?gcat=103330My favorite pickup this year might be the Walsh Peter Parker: Spectacular Spider-man page with a Ditko'esque splash flashback scene from one of the early days of Spider-man. My most recent and final pickup of 2022 was actually a piece of Disney animation from 1932 depicting Mickey Mouse dressed as Santa Claus. I wrote more about them there. Enjoy and have a Merry Christmas.

Thought I would share another recent pickup. Marvel's GI Joe is what got me into comics in the first place. I remember when you could score pages for $200-400 a page. Then things skyrocketed and still some of the pages from earlier issues command upward of $1800-2500 a page. To me, GI Joe was never about the artist. I mean, really, who cares? It was about Larry Hama and the characters. Find a cool looking page of characters you like and if it is affordable, grab it. Found this on Heritage and won this Roadblock and Tunnel Rat semi-splash with Roadblock, quite literally walking off panel and off the page. At a price tag of around $600, I was comfortable with this. You have two of the most popular characters in the franchise on this page.
