Cool. I'm going to watch Split as soon as I can. I hadn't heard about it before...didn't know it existed. I think a lot of people gave up on M Night Shamalamadingdong but the commercials looked good and Johanna really wanted to see it, so we gave it a shot. Of course with M we knew there'd be a twist. As Robot Chicken said "What a twist!"

At least The Village tried to have to decent story. It just had very manipulative marketing.

The Happening wasn't good either but it did have Zooey Deschanel, a below average actress who's very, very cute

Came across this insightful video sharing my views about Pixar and its downfall: As a Pixar fan, I was one of the minority who didn't quite enjoy "The Incredibles 2" or "Finding Dory". Like many Marvel movies, they aren't terrible movies; they're "just okay" movies. Competently made and often comedic, these are passable movies that could satisfy you and your kids for an hour and a half. Now, I'm not nearly cynical enough to say something as ludicrous as "our standards in movies have dropped." No, this acceptance of mediocrity has always been prevalent since the beginning of entertainment itself. People will fork out any amount of cash for a cheap laugh. But it does bring into perspective just how low people's standards have always been. I myself sometimes fell into this mentality too. But just why are we so desperate for quality that we are willing to praise the basest entertainment created to blatantly pander to the lowest common denominator? Throw in a few jokes and a few colorful characters and you get an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes, sheesh. Ever since I got old enough to be aware of good and bad movies, I've noticed an existing problem among movies that only got worse after 2010 - movies borrowing each other's ideas and, after 2010, nobody giving a and paying money anyway. Pixar's Coco is just the latest in a long line of family-friendly BS that teaches you to follow your f***ing dreams. Jesus Christ. How many times do I have to be fed this piece of garbage advice? I've seen enough of that of a "message" from Disney before it even got associated with Pixar. And it seems like many other Pixar films have suffered from this copycat syndrome (pun unintended) too, including "The Incredibles 2", a bunch of recycled ideas from other movies meshed together in one gigantic pile of incoherent mess with a shallow and lackluster fight sequence at the end involving forgettable side characters they never bothered developing. What a letdown, Brad Bird. You went from Iron Giant to this yawnfest. So yes, I agree largely with what the video has to say about the downfall of Pixar, and I do think they haven't made a "great" film ever since "Up". And no, I don't count WALL-E as a great film because only the first-half was great, but it got bogged down by the second-half's schmaltzy romance and environmental themes. Yeah, because kids love to watch robots f*** each other. At least Up didn't have some silly love story tossed in to pander to the crowd. "Inside Out" was decent, but it's only after watching the video above did I realize how uncreative it really was compared to the past films. As he said, the world-building was lazy af. However, I have to say that I disagree partially on this one particular film because its themes are nuanced enough to stand out from the other uninspired travesties that Pixar's been churning out of their . At least Inside Out tried to talk about something other than the power of love and family bonding and goodwill on mankind, bleh. At least Inside Out actually talked about something meaningful and original, the importance of sadness, a very bold message most animated films are too chicken to even touch upon at their ideas pitch to the respective studios. "Teaching kids that sadness is important? What are you, nuts?" It isn't a coincidence that Inside Out was directed by Pete Doctor. Initially, I didn't pay much attention to the good doctor, and I (initially) thought Up was f***ing boring. But he's sure changed my mind now, and he's definitely on my watchlist for the salvation of Pixar's future. Now that Lasseter is one of the many men involved in some stupid scandal, the Doctor is all that's left to cure the sickness of Pixar and return it to its former glory. After seeing how disappointing The Incredibles 2 can be, I'm not holding my breath for Toy Story 4 anymore, so I guess I'll just wait 'till the next Pixar original non-sequel film.

Orius, old chum. I think you should stop watching Pixar. Nope. Still crossing fingers that there'll be a better one in the future. Like I said, Inside Out was not half bad. I would do a review if I'm not so goddamn lazy.

I have my own theory, but I liked hers.

Where the f***'s King Kong? And why is there so much focus on the goddamn humans again? Jesus. You think they'd have learned their mistake by now from the absolute disaster of a film that was Godzilla (2014).

Don't listen to this DC homer! No, do listen to this DC homer!
{Spoiler} (What's a homer?)
I can help you, Orius. Don't wait until August 14th... Go out and spend your money on the Justice League Blu-Ray. You'll thank me after you've watched it
