While everyone is pissed off at movies, lets throw The Predator on that pile.
I was hoping for something a little more creative and a throwback to the original, since a guy who starred in the original happened to be directing it. I am sorely disappointed by what I've seen so far. A "hybrid" Predator that hunts Predators.
you Hollywood. Just you already. Sick of your . The only movies I have gone to the theater in the past 5 years have been Marvel movies. And Star Wars, to my chagrin. There is a reason for that.

I don't pay enough attention to this thread.
SPLIT is worth watching. I thought JM did a very good job as a whacko.

The Village (2004)*in YMS' Adam Johnston's voice* So I just rewatched M. Night Shamalava's "The Village" and what do you know? It was a big pile of like everyone once said. Hah, kidding. It was actually pretty nice. I like its theme of innocence, and how human nature couldn't be contained no matter how you try. Very nice stuff from Shyamalan. There are a few annoyances like Shyamalan's obligatory cameo that was so freaking pointless, or how the film reminds the audience of certain foreshadowing through quotes that characters have said earlier, but overall, it's a pretty strong story with very decent casting and acting. We have some surprisingly big names here that I immediately noticed from the opening credits, like Adrian Brody, William Hurt, Joaquin Phoenix and f-ing Sigourney Weaver! Phew. Later on, I also noticed certain familiar faces showing up like a very young and non-snarky Jesse Eisenberg and Bryce Dallas Howard, both of whom certainly gave much better performances here than they did in their later films ("BvS" and "Jurassic World", like you have to ask). James Newton Howard also once again delivers with his master-craft as the music score here is beautiful, moody, and gives off that appropriate classical age atmosphere that brings the world to life. Very nice touch. Now, of course, I'm not going to spoil the twist, but you could pretty much guess what it is when I described the theme earlier, and it is a nice twist, and it only adds to the suspense and mystery of the movie. But I honestly think you could enjoy the movie knowing the twist anyway - I certainly did during this rewatch. I think that its theme being this human psychological study helps that a bit, and it helps you to pay more attention to how the characters are reacting to the events of the movie rather than all the twists and mystery. So yes, a second viewing is recommended, especially if you were lied to by the ty marketing back when this movie was released. Is it an underrated movie that should have deserved better? I would say yes. 8/10. Btw, there are two reasons why I bothered to take a break from playing Fallout 3 to start watching movies again. 1) It's in preparation for Shyamalan's next movie, "Glass", so I might be watching "Split" soon, a film I didn't have time to watch back then, and 2) I'm watching the highly acclaimed horror movie, "Hereditary" soon. I think its screening is reaching its last week (two more days), so I might have to buy a ticket soon. Let's hope it deserves all the hype I've been hearing. I could use another decent horror movie.

So I just saw the trailer for DC's live action Teen Titans TV series, and all I have to say is: "F*** Batman."
Oh wait - Robin said that in this trailer. My bad. Because that makes A LOT MORE F***ING SENSE. What the f*** is wrong with this show? Cue Deadpool's "So edgy and dark. Are you sure you're not from the DC Universe?" joke.
Big Teen Titans fan btw, and I'm never going to watch this. Splat.

I can't remember at what point it was, but I figured out the twist before the end. But I liked it. My biggest problem with his films is that his characters all need a 5 Hour Energy drink, or they need to stop taking Ritalin.

I still haven't seen it despite seeing the trailer, so there's that. The production of Titans looks ty and low budget anyway. That's one reason why I don't bother with TV superhero shows that isn't Marvel Netflix. And even with Marvel Netflix, I stopped watching after the first half of Daredevil Season 2. Anyway, I let trailers decide for me sometimes because I don't want to waste 7 bucks buying a movie ticket to something I'll hate. For blu-rays, it's the same deal, except it's even more expensive unless you rent the damn thing. For TV shows, it's a matter of wasting my time sitting through 5 or 6 episodes only to hate it anyway. Time is money. Time is precious. There are only so many TV shows in the world I could risk wasting time watching so that I could end up hating it anyway. Do you know how many mainstream TV shows I haven't seen because I don't have the time? Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Lost, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, etc, etc, etc.

Dunno about timeless. It's pretty tired, and I can't wait for it to end already.
Same with Walking Dead. I stopped watching it when I caught up, around the time Negan came into the picture. I just can't be bothered to watch it anymore.
I've noticed most new shows just run out of steam 3 seasons in. I'm waiting for Better Call Saul, and wondering if the same thing is going to happen to it.

Walking Dead sucks. At best, it's torture porn (which I personally find disgusting and indicative of some serious mental illness). When it's not at its best, it's a snooze-fest. If you worship at the alter of bad, predictable, lazy writing, you'll love this show. And to head off the fanboys...yes, I'm fully aware of such themes as man's inhumanity to man, and post-dystopian/apocalyptic futures - the problem is this show steals from superior works and suffers from severe clone degradation. And all this is from a guy who was excited after watching the first episode.

There was nothing on the other night, so I watched an older movie. The Goodbye Girl (1977)I had never seen it before, and I loved it. I was laughing out loud quite a few times. The trailer doesn't do it justice. I like romcoms, and this is a good one. And I forgot how cute Marsha Mason could be. Interestingly, there is a scene that wouldn't get past today's censors, yet probably didn't raise an eyebrow at the time. The 10 year old girl Lucy McFadden has a stomach ache from eating too many chocolate sodas (or something). The scene has both her mother and her male roommate massaging first her butt and then her stomach. You'll have to see it to see what I mean. It was totally innocent for the times.
