I like that it's ending at 193 instead of them forcing more material to make it to 200.
I only read these stories in the compendium. IIRC, I got the impression that if I had got this comic monthly, I'd finish each issue in minutes. That's one of my peeves with so many modern books I look at. What a waste of my money that would be.

Please tell me it ends... I thought the comic, the TV show (after episode #1), and the spin-offs were complete garbage.

I enjoyed the comics (again, if binge reading), the show (though I still have the most recent 9 episodes to watch on my DVR), and the novels. Of the 3, I liked the novels best because it really got into the character of the Governor, aspects they never touched upon in either the comic or the tv show, such as the Governor's name actually being Brian, and not Phillip. Phillip is the name of his brother, who's identity AND personality he assumed after he died. The wife and daughter (Penny) mentioned on the tv show were his brothers family. In the episode where the Governor lost to Rick's group and wandered off, meeting up with a few other stragglers, he went by the name Brian, which is about as close to a nod to the novel as they've ever got. You actually feel kinda sorry for the guy in the novels.

I feel the exact same way about new monthly books. I try not to read them until I have about a year's worth of story and then binge read the series. I figure a year of waiting is good enough to accumulate a decent stack of books, except of course the one time I decided to read the book every month. Two years later and I'm still waiting for Doomsday Clock to conclude.

That's a huge pet peeve for me too. I liked the schedule for the WD weekly, although I can't imagine anything but reprinted material keeping up that pace long term. I didn't mind so much the stories reading so quick as there was another one coming right behind it. Spending $12 -$15 each month wasn't really worth it though. I'd be interested in seeing a weekly anthology-type comic if the cover price could be kept at $1.50 or less. I like that it's ending at 193 instead of them forcing more material to make it to 200. There were titles I'd save up for 4 or 5 issues before I read them, and then realized I could wait for the tpb and save a buck or two plus not having to worry about what's coming out and when.

Recently found Fables vol 1-4 in the local free book box and am really loving it,and even more that my partner is getting into them.Last comics I got her to read and she liked besides WD(I think she would dig most zombie comics if I could find them in a collected format) was Y the Last Man;another swell free box find.I pass most of these finds off to friends or back to the box,but Y I kept.Fables I'm fond of but am sure one of our girlfriends will be into reading them. Not meant to sound be sexist at all btw,I just really have almost all female friends. The guys keep dying on me.

There's so much going on with that cover, and each ad seems funnier than the one before it. Any idea what prompted them to use the "Alfred" image in the first place?Apparently, he was created in the 1890s.
