From the CGC board, in the MCS thread: "I haven't bought much from them in the past few years, but I still get their weekly email newsletter. Lately, the inclusion in those messages of political content and opinion that I don't agree with has really turned me off from a) reading any more (I just unsubscribed) or b) ordering. I'm definitely not going to tell them what they can or should say -- it's Buddy's business and he can do what he pleases. But I've decided to not order anything else from them because of it regardless of how good their prices are (they are good) or customer service (I've only heard good things)." This seems utterly ridiculous to me - like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Does anyone here feel like Raphe does? Would/has anybody ever not bought from someone because of their political views? I don't understand. Then again, I don't understand why UncaBen stopped posting here because I make shill IDs on the CGC board To the first part, I've never not bought from someone due to political views, but I imagine there's a scenario or two where I might avoid a seller. "It depends". Yeah, I can think of a couple of extreme examples, like if the seller was raising money for Nazi/white supremacist/terrorist organizations. Oh so? Good to hear

I'm sure they'd be outraged, especially if it's a great deal. That said, we do not give our money to Jimmy John's because it helps fund his Big Game hunting (rhino, giraffe, etc). Screw him.

Did RCheli or whatever delete his post? All I see is his reply to (I assume) your reply.

It bothers me, though, that politics or religious views possibly enter my decisions as a consumer. I still lean towards the belief that one sided politics played a role in hastening the demise of MAD Magazine.

I'm not sure that was the reason Unca Ben stopped posting here. Where did you hear that?

Did Kav get a month's vacation? His post today is almost exactly one month from his last one.

Did Kav get a month's vacation? His post today is almost exactly one month from his last one. I'm HOPING not, and that he's just keeping quiet. I really don't care what his reason is, it's been peaceful. It's felt more like a comic book forum than it has in a long time. Not as good as it used to be, but certainly better than it's been.

Seems like an odd reason to quit... Maybe his moral compass is wound too tight? What I meant was why would he quit here just because you were shilling CGC? Makes no sense as he was a regular here for a couple of months before quitting. There's more to it, I'm sure.

The funny thing is...people who spam 'CGC' in non-CGC listings get less visibility. For example, say I'm looking for some title like 'Amazing Spider-Man #28' on eBay. If I'm looking for a non-graded copy for sale, I'll put this into the search field, 'Amazing Spider-Man 28 -CGC -CBCS -PGX.' The search results will omit anyone using 'CGC it!' or some variation in the title. So I will never see the keyword spammer's listing, and I'm much likely to buy it than someone looking for a CGC book. The opposite it true too. Say I'm looking for the same book, but I want it CGC graded. This means I'll put 'Amazing Spider-Man 28 CGC -CBCS -PGX' into the search field. The search results will omit anyone using 'Not CBCS' or 'Not PGX.' So again, if they are trying to increase their visibility, they've actually done the exact opposite.
