This post was transferred from the Would you be interested in a Pay It Forward (PIF) trading forum? Poll.I'd consider participating in PIF because the chaos always looked like a good laugh. I also wouldn't feel so bad about putting up something that wasn't a prize. I'd participate if I could match the value or just sit out if not.

This post was transferred from the Would you be interested in a Pay It Forward (PIF) trading forum? Poll.As you can tell I don't know much about this but I'd give it a shot. Do people not play because they have to give out their address? I think the last time I played, my offer of SA Spidey's and SA Avengers (5 or 6 nice conditions, too) was krapped on. It gave me the impression that people didn't want SA unless its somethiing hotly speculated and can be flipped, so I stopped. I honestly thought my offer was fine. If I had been new to collecting, I'd have grabbed it. That's why I think their PIF thread was filled with speculators. My earlier experiences were fun, but that was prior to the Class of 2014 (or whichever year CGC filled up with New collectors).

It was after I offered a low-grade Jimmy Olsen #134 which you took. I thought your offer was good. Unfortunately, they deemed the JO 134 to be "hot" and your offer was not. I would have taken it. Yeah, they think in terms of what they can readily sell.

Regarding PIF, my suggestion to you guys is to start out light on the rules to get it going, and then rule it up later as required. KISS Method (Keep It Simple Stupid). Here's my suggestion for introductory rules and format... Format1) Someone posts a free offer. ( Person A) 2) The first person to post an gets it. ( Person B) 3) Person B posts a free offer. 4) The first person to post an gets it. ( Person C) 5) Person A ships their free offer to Person B because Person B's free offer was confirmed by Person C. 6) Person C posts a free offer. 7) The first person to post an gets it. ( Person D) 8) Person B ships their free offer to Person C because Person C's free offer was confirmed by Person D. 9) Etc. The cycle repeats endlessly until the sun becomes a red giant and destroys the earth; in which case Person (N) is not required to ship their free offer to Person (N+1). Rules1) If you post an , you must post a free offer within 48 hours. 2) If your free offer is not claimed within 2 weeks, the previous free offer goes back up. 3) All free offers must be shipped within 2 weeks of confirmation. 4) All free offers must have pictures or scans. 5) All free offers must specify shipping conditions (free anywhere, free to a regional area, paid by recipient, etc.) 6) All free offers must be comic book related items.
What do you think? Please discuss.

I believe that's the best way to start. Shouldn't need any tweaking.

I believe that's the best way to start. Shouldn't need any tweaking. Great. I've pasted them into the Rules thread and opened up the Trading thread. Pay It Forward (PIF) is now officially open. If you guys want/need any additions or changes to the rules, just let me know.

How many participants do we anticipate? Hi Hokie. Not many yet. We have 6 people here that were interested. So I think it will start off slow, and the rules were purposely simplified and loosened to make it easy on everyone. Feel free to invite anyone you trust. It would be great if we could get a fully functional trading platform going here.

Sounds good! I'll put up something tonight to get it started. Do we post our offers in this thread?

After we get rollin', if you guys want, we can break out the discussion thread from the trade thread; but for now, I think it makes sense to keep things simple until everyone gets comfortable with the format.
