I mainly buy from eBay but am open to suggestions. So what are good sites and what sites do you not recommend?
eBay is frustrating me today, high grade copies seem to be so inflated at the moment and bargains are eluding me! eBay is worth it if you have the patience to wait for those high grade bargains that will eventually pop up.

I like buying back issues from MCS and New Kadia. The grades for MCS are pretty accurate, however New Kadia is often off by a grade. I don't buy any books from them that shows a "+" or "-" grade since those books are usually over graded. I do like their prime shipping which gives you free shipping for 3 months if you buy into the program. I usually wait for their 50% off sales and pick up a few books with free shipping. I've ordered a $1 book and it was shipped free.

I do like MCS, their grading is pretty good, however they do miss stuff that isn't exactly obvious. Example is I've bought 60's Archie in VF and have received great looking books, but with the pin up page missing. This has happened 3-4 times. With Newkadia they will sometimes ship "Goods" with covers detached which bugs me to no end. I won't buy readers from them as I don't even like to donate comics with detached covers.

Another idea is to buy whole collections. Put an ad in craiglist or wherever. Keep what you want and sell the rest. Most people have almost pristine 9.4-10.0 books if they're from the 90s outward. |

MCS and EBay. I've neverr purchased anything from Heritage and Clink and never plan to.

I use eBay, acquaintances on the CGC forum, and MCS. I agree that MCS's grading is accurate, except, however on big money books. Often with those the scans suddenly start showing a little more surface wear on "Very Fine" and "Near Mint-" Oh, and you. |

It went off without a hitch. Sounds like a safe location to choose! I've never used Craigslist. I've bought stuff from "freeads" but the pick up was always from the person's home. I remember once I turned up at this guy's house (pre-arranged) to purchase a Batman collectible. His wife opened the door and he'd obviously failed to tell her I was coming because she treated me with the real suspicion. "Who are you?" That look in her face... I'll never forget it.

I've stopped buying SA Archies since they started going up in price and went after the BA and CA stuff since there were still some books that were "undiscovered" by the masses. Without revealing titles or issue numbers, can I ask what you mean by "undiscovered"? Is it a unique story theme or character? The Cheryl appearances are pretty obvious, but I'm thinking stuff like Marvelous Maureen and Kool-Aid Man are probably underappreciated by collectors and difficult to find relative to titles from other publishers from the same years. |

What I mean by "undiscovered" are books with risque covers that aren't as well known and Cheryl Blossom covers (some are pretty hard to come by). |

Here are a few BA and CA books I bought from a few sources before they became harder to find or whose cost went up dramatically. As you can see on the bag, quite a few were from MCS.  I got these copies for cheap. The top two I sent in to get graded. I don't think I paid more than a few bucks each. |
