I still do not understand why CGC has not fixed this problem since they are obviously aware with all the complaints. Perhaps they are trying to give more business to CBCS? Because gobs and gobs of people still keep submitting. As long as the sheep keep suckling at the CGC teat, nothing will change.

Same can be said for the astronomical amount of useless variant covers, as long as people are buying them...Ha, I actually like variant covers because they look great in collected editions!

I never really cared for variants because I can't get passed the fact that the interior, being the main reason I buy comics, are the same. This has nothing to do with comics specifically as I found the idea puzzling when TV Guide or People magazines did it. My concern is that it damages the hobby, and will contribute to The Crash. While part of me realizes that prices will fall during The Crash, I also realize it will be the ones playing hot potato cutting said prices, but will they be for the Ages I collect? After that inventory is used up, the rest may just sit on their books, waiting.

What I like(d) about comic covers is that the cover generally had something to do with the interior story. So many variants seem to be stand alone posters featuring the characters, and few are memorable to me even if the art is great. I've reached a point where I need a list of issue numbers to know if I have a comic or not as all the covers look the same to me(moderns). It also bothers me that the story seems to take a backseat to art nowadays.

The TV Guide multiple covers I saw were ridiculous because they weren't regional at all, they were just a flat out money grab, especially when there were 3 connecting covers (triptych).

Could somebody please clarify 1) if the Grading date is the same date as encapsulation, and 2) is there a way to know if it was a request for a replacement encapsulation because of the appearance?

If there is a request for replacement due to the rings,is the comic regraded? I hope that a replacement would be at the same grade (or a better grade) if it was because of Newton Rings, or for that matter, for any appearance that is questionable that was not caused by owner. Who knows, these days? That is part of why I was wondering about the grading date and the encapsulation date being the same. Thanks.
