I was an arcade kid back in the 80s! Home consoles are not for me. I was pretty limited in the games I played, mostly because I didn’t enjoy the fighting games. I liked to shoot stuff mostly. Do you remember Pleiades? Loved this one, but it must’ve been pretty obscure.

Yes, that is my current level in Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare II My problem is Ryan hasn't been playing much lately but he won't let me pass him level-wise. He's at 1218 right now. Luckily I can still play the game without leveling up. My favorite character is All Star Cricket Star with flaming cricket bats. The graphics look pretty cool. I’m just out of the loop when it comes to gaming. You like shooting games? You'd like this one. It's one of those "open world" games where it's all random within a framework. No quizzes, no challenges, no repetition - just hot death!!

I’m going to tryout the android version and go from there. Your description sounds perfect.

The PvZ on the phone is a lot different. Sorry, kinda forgot about that. I also forgot to mention it's a 3rd person shooter game, but you might've realized that from the pictures.

It was always big news when a new game arrived.

I don't recall Pleiadies in particular, I know that a meteor shower is named after that constellation. But we played a ton of them when I was growing up even into college, all the Nathan's here on Long Island had game rooms. There was even a game room in Penn Station in midtown NYC! Some of my favorite space-themed games were Tempest, Missile Command, Defender, Robotron 2000, Sinistar, Joust. I can't even remember all of them! Special place in my heart for the original Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Mr. Do and Track and Field! Spent more on those than all the rest combined! Oh and the martial arts game, what was it called? The guy would say half-point kinda quiet for a leg sweep or FULL POINT if you did a nice kick or punch!

Those were all great games you mention, although not to into Defender, the sequel “Stargate” got loads of my pocket change. I still have a soft spot for Mr. Do and Mr. Do.’s Castle, though haven’t seen the latter since the 90’s. I used to pop into a game room in the early 00’s and a much older gentlemen used to pass his Mr. Do onto me after level 100+ or so. I don’t recall the exact level (105,110?), but at this point it was all kill screens. He’d leave me a dozen or more lives but I could never move forward more than one screen. The speed was overwhelming. He didn’t speak English, nor I Chinese, but I always wished I could talk to the guy about the games. I sucked at Pac-Man. I don’t know the martial arts games. I would watch friends play, but just didn’t get into them myself.

2261
Listing and packing, packing and listing. I made it over 300 active BIN listings again, briefly, but it hasn't lasted. I'm not even getting to the stuff that I actually have to have a debate about whether to keep or not.

I'm not even getting to the stuff that I actually have to have a debate about whether to keep or not. But that’s good, right? People are snapping up books as they’re listed? I’m baffled as to whether or not we’re in a buyers or sellers market during the pandemic. I watch Archie comics & related books on eBay, and its so frustrating to see the asking prices sellers have for the more common floppies and digests. Is someone paying these prices? Here’s a recent one, a Brand New Current Digest (retail $7.99) offered at $30.00. www.ebay.com/itm/World-of-Archie-Jumbo-Comics-Double-Digest-No-98-June-2020-First-Print-Book/402282091266?hash=item5da9e19302%3Ag%3ABmQAAOSwEoNe1XNm&LH_BIN=1“Normal shelf wear and tear for a comic this age”. I’m also seeing some of the worst grading coming from all corners.

I'm happy to sell what I'm selling and glad there's a market for some of this stuff. This week I listed a whack of Marvel Tales and had a fun time reading some of the earliest ASM stories again, plus a few I missed the first time like a great Spidey/Dr. Strange story from ASM Annual 14 by Frank Miller.

2265
Interesting items sold this last week or so include a cool artbook called the Silver Age of Comics which includes a bunch of cover and interior work of the best Marvel and DC artists of the 60s along with commentary, a full run of GoTG 1990 series, lots of Spider-man related titles, modern X-titles like X-Men and X-Force, etc., couple nice copies of the Killing Joke - $18 plus shipping for 12th and 13th prints, not bad - Spawn and related titles, basically anything I pick out to scan and list seems to find a buyer if I price it right.

2272
Sales have slowed some compared to April/May but still better than average. I'm going to push hard this weekend to get more listings up, currently dipped down to 291 BIN listings and want to see if I can crack my personal record of 318 active listings. My wife would laugh to hear me say I'm running low on stock, but more accurately I'm running low on easy sellers and have to dig deep to find the goodies.

As the weather gets nicer and people are less in lockdown mode there’ll be fewer folks sitting in front of their computer screens, shopping all day. I know I’ve caught myself several times in recent months scrolling through listings looking for nothing in particular, just like I would at a comic shop or record store back in the day. In your experience, if you have stuff not terribly in demand, is it better to offer as small lots of a dozen or so or just make the books dirt cheap?
