MDCCXCIX. Lots of things happened in MDCCXCIX. Problem is, we only have written accounts to tell us this. How do we know these things are true? We don't. Therefore they're probably not. Why? Because I'm a cynical bastard. The less said about MDCCXCIX, the better.

July 19, 1799 - French soldier found the Rosetta stone in Egypt during Napoleon campaign. Brits took it in 1801 after they defeated him. Things were different in those days!
