Deleted Posts
Several people have contacted me privately to let me know that you can game the system by making a post and then deleting it, as the system does not subtract post earnings when this happens.
I was aware of this. Let me point out that no one has abused the system and tried to game it by deleting posts; and, quite frankly, I wouldn't expect that from the great group of people we have here.
But, to reassure everyone that this game will be kept as fair as possible, anyone doing this would be detected immediately and either 1) have their total earnings adjusted downward to make up for the deleted posts, 2) have their earnings privileges revoked for a period of time, or 3) both. I would, of course, do this privately.
Just so you know, I get security logs which show forum activity (deletions, edits, etc.), and I can easily sort under 'Post Deletions.' See below for example.
Again, to date, this hasn't been a problem and I doubt it ever will be. I'm just making this post to reassure all those who take the game seriously that cheating in this way isn't possible.
