28 copies of Amazing Spider-Man #300 on eBay for $20KeBay link The seller had a WTB on CGC for this issue in any and all grades. I wonder how many he’s sitting on, or has let go over the years?

On the stands 50 years ago this week was Batman #229. This would have been a hard cover to resist I’d imagine. There’s a neat “Easter Egg” of sorts in the Robin back-up story in this issue, too.

Jesus H tap dancing christ on a pony, it finally happened. A slab company that only slabs pages from a comic This is beyond stupid, if you do as they say: "ALL PAGES SUBMITTED FOR GRADING MOST (sic) BE SUBMITTED AS A WHOLE COMIC BOOK AND THE PAGES CUT FROM THE BOOK BY CPA. THIS IS TO ENSURE UNIFORMITY IN APPEARANCE IN THE GRADED HOLDER." It just keeps getting better: THE MINIMUM ORDER IS 50 GRADED PAGES. THE FEE TO GRADE EACH PAGE IS $14 PLUS TAXES AND RETURN SHIPPING COST. ALL ORDERS SUBMITTED MUST BE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE OF GRADING TURN AROUND TIMES ARE CURRENTLY 90 DAYS DUE TO THE OVERWHELMING DEMAND FOR THIS NEW SERVICE AND THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC www.cpacomic.com/news

However, I will let you know. That's like 1 1/2 AF15's... Let's see.

It seems like it's more like a joke than true. The terms are kind of shocking considering how much it would cost to have someone slice up your book and throw the pages in a top loader.
What happens to the pages that don't get graded? They have fees for grading the pages, taxes and sending back the graded page, but there is no separate fee to ship it back. Maybe they think that a person who is stupid enough to use that type of service won't mind not getting the rest of the book back.

Is this really from Russ' personal collection? Really? We're supposed believe that about a pristine reprint? Signed: Skeptical Stu.

As an example, if you have an All-Star #58 solely for it being Powegirl’s first appearance, wouldn’t it make sense to slab just the page in question? All those other pages are full of words and other characters that don’t help the value anyway.

Oh I'm sure it's from his backstock, but that type of labeling usually indicates "from the personal collection of". I find it hard to believe that the dozen or so slabbed reprints they're selling were actually part of his collection.

I’m also thinking “file copy” would negate “personal collection” or vice versa. On a related note, I suspect over the next few years we’re going to see the labels crowded with more verbiage or doo dads than we can imagine.

I have a coverless book that has an awesome splash as the cover, but I would never willingly cut up a key book.
