As for the #1 book, that looks like an optimistic 7.0

Just to make sure there's no confusion, I'm posting Step #3 from the 'Rules & How It's Played' thread here...
Just to reiterate, you are guessing the grade the specified grading company would give (CGC or CBCS).
I specify the grading company because some people believe the two grading companies grade differently. Personally, I disagree with that statement. In my experience, there is more repeatability variance than there is daylight between the two company's grading philosophies.

As for the #1 book, that looks like an optimistic 7.0 I agree somewhat. It looks a little loose for CGC. If you were to resubmit it several times, I would not be surprised to see CGC give it a 6.5 or a 7.0. This is also the type of book that most people grade tighter than the grading companies.

Ah, for some reason I thought we had to guess which company the book was graded from. (Realizing it's pretty easy to tell due to the inner well difference) thanks for the clarification

(I also posted a response in your private contestant thread.)

I was the 5.5 on #2. Not quite sure how grading on tanned pages works. They looked brittle to me for some reason

Re: #3. How do bullet holes affect the grade...? Depends on what caliber and whether they're armor piercing or not.
