I've been looking for one for a long time for around $300. Online, the only $300 copies are horrible and look like garbage. This copy is exceptional, and since it has the holes, I got it for a price that I liked. Check on eBay... you won't be able to find a reasonable $300 copy. That's why I bought it. Do you think I made a mistake? If your intent was to flip the book, totally. If your intent was to flesh out your collection with an affordable copy, then no. I don't understand the reasoning you have for getting it graded if you are putting it into your personal collection though. How can I get hole punches restored? I think it was a great choice for an affordable copy.

Hi Harrison, Without and pics or scans, it would be difficult to give you an estimated grade on the book - and that span between 7.0 and 8.5 is very wide. Three hole punched books experience a dramatic drop in grade because the defect affects the entire book (three times over) and usually affects the story. Most of the time these grades fall between 1.0 and 2.0 as Squishee mentioned. There are exceptions if the book would otherwise be a higher grade copy. Here are some CGC examples for you to compare to your book (along with one qualified grade): And I agree with what the others are telling you; ASM 14 is a great book and has high demand, but it also has high supply (especially in low grade). eBay usually has 10-20 copies or more available any day of the week. It's not hard to find or 'rare' in an sense of the word. In case anyone's wondering, the "white" showing behind the holes on those covers is the chamber paper. Where did you find these images?

I wouldn't even bother. I'd just save this copy and save up for something in a better grade. If you can save $300 for a book, then there is no reason you can't save $600 for a higher grade/nicer copy and try to sell this one for what you paid.

You saw what you thought was a nice book, paid for it, then went off to get it graded....I don't understand the leap in logic on that one. Only conclusion I can come up with is that you found a copy you'd thought would be worth more than what you paid because "It presents nicely" which puts the premise that you don't want to sell it out the window.

So why lie about what your intentions are?

So why lie about what your intentions are? Lie? Perhaps you are on a phone and having trouble reading the site? You answered my questions with "That's right" which would confirm my suspicion that you bought the book with the intention of selling it for a profit. Which would mean you are lying. If I am wrong, let me know
