Sunny and cold the last few days. I enjoy the rain, and it makes things a tad less cool. When there's no cloud cover, it gets reallly chilly. And when I say "chilly", I mean "40's F" chilly. I know what cold is. I was just up in Alberta in December, where it was -20 (F, not C) one day. That was nice.

Yesterday the clouds were magnificent.

They're one of the reasons the early settlers called it "Dublin."

Yup. It's really pretty around here right now. I take it you live in the Bay Area. Whereabouts, if you don't mind me asking? I was born in the East Bay, and raised in Dublin.

Every time I go back home, I'm a little more disappointed at how much development has happened to my beloved Amador Valley. It used to be nothing but rolling hills between Dougherty Blvd all the way out to the Altamont. Now, it's nothing but development. I had friends in Blackhawk, up north of San Ramon, and I used to take Dougherty up there...the "back way." It used to be a two lane, country road, meandering through the back hills. Now, it's a 6 lane highway. Sigh.

Blackhawk is where you want to be if you live in the East Bay.

Every time we drove past certain fields on the outskirts of town, I used to joke "one day, all this will be houses..." Now they are. Many a true word... sigh.

Blackhawk is where you want to be if you live in the East Bay. My friends would go on vacation, and I got to watch their house...this would have been 1989-1990...and driving into Blackhawk, with my 1976 Mercury Bobcat, with yellow paint and fake wood panels...was the BEST.

I live in the Blossom Valley area, off Snell (actually the Blossom Hill Rd exit) & 85 fwy. I go through Dublin when going to visit my older brother or sister, they both live in Granite Bay near Folsom Lake.

Oh, I have an idea where that is...off the 17, on the way to Los Gatos, right? Vicinity?
