Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand...back to yogurt. Hey Stu , Do you have Dollar Tree stores where you live? If so, tell your wife I found some plastic containers there that work in the incubator ($1 each, of course).

Thanks for the heads up, although I think Yo (aka Mrs. Gurt) only uses glass(?). I'll ask her.

Is everything exactly $1 in these stores or $1 or under? We have a "pound shop" where everything is £1. I like to go in there and ask the staff how much particular items are. "How much is this? … How much is this? … How much is this?"

"How much is this? … How much is this? … How much is this?" Yup...everything is exactly $1. They actually have some pretty good products - like name brand toothpaste that you'd pay 3X for somewhere else.

We also have a store called Five Below where everything is $5 or less.

- Poundland
- Pound World
- 99p Store
Poundland won Pound World was too late on the scene and never took off. The 99p store was probably the best out of the three but lost out because it sold everything for a penny less. The owner estimated they lost something like £4m a year due to that 1p.

They may not last as long, but you get a ton of them (like 8 AA batteries for $1).

Supposedly, these dollar stores are the fastest growing segment in retail. They can't build the stores fast enough. All at a time when other stores like Sears are closing.

Supposedly, these dollar stores are the fastest growing segment in retail. They can't build the stores fast enough. All at a time when other stores like Sears are closing. Ours are dying off. Poundland has realised it can't go on selling everything for £1 and is introducing changes. Once it becomes the £1+ shop, it'll be finished. Novelty. Worn. Off.
Definitely great for batteries though!

My local mini mart buys a 6 pack of lighters for $1 from them and sells them for $1 apiece.
