oh and thanks. I've given myself to push myself hard by 5 months. I remember the days when I could bike for hours straight, walk anywhere in the city, work like a mule for 12 hours straight. Everyone says you slow down as you age, but I believe that you are only as weak as you think you are. I might not get back to that level, but I honestly don't see why I shouldn't be near it. Most of those beliefs about age are old-wive's tales. One thing that's true, after your mid-30s you start to lose muscle mass without working out - supposedly at a rate of 1% per year (that adds up quick). We weren't designed to sit on our butts all day drinking sugar water. Want some inspiration...this dude has gone viral right now on the internet. Young Chinese girls are fawning over him. He's 80.

This is exactly what I am talking about. I see guys I used to work with, who were only 10 years older than I am, looking 70. Fat, sloven, unkempt messes. I told myself I would never do that. However, here I am a few years later, 40lbs overweight and drunk I started with quitting smoking 3 years ago, that added the 20lbs, but cravings for sweets didn't help that much. Around July this year, I just simply had enough. It's taken me till a couple of weeks ago to really get motivated though. From July till now, I started cleaning up my eating habits, stopped drinking quite so much, and getting my ass off the couch. I think if I continue the way I am going, I am going to be back to where I was at 30 in a couple of years. Hardest part is getting the lungs working again. It's been 3 years without smoking, but I haven't challenged them enough in that time. Just lucky I got away without getting a lung disease.

I 100% endorse your goal. I think staying in shape is one of the most important things anyone can do. It's one of those body/mind things. When you're in shape, working out and eating real food (not dieting), you feel good about yourself and have tons of energy, you're sharper mentally, yada yada. It's foundation. It also sets you apart from 90% of the people around you who are obese, unhappy, on anti-depressants and self-medicating to relieve the self-inflicted anxiety and frustration in their lives. I could go on...but I'll stop there.

It's sad but true that 90% of those around you really aren't in shape. I mean, there's in shape and then there's outta shape, but to be a bloated manball 90% of the time, there is just no reason for it.

Have had an erratic workout week so far, a couple days off here, a full on cardio day there, another day of here...
Anyways, running my goal of running 2.5kms in 10 mins is quite challenging. Ran it again today after having a couple of days off, and still haven't beaten my best time of 14:47. Came in at 16:40
I bought some actual running shoes the other day, and I will say, what a freaking difference. They are Asics and it's like running with little springboards on your feet. For comparison, I was running in Vans before. I've worn Vans for about 25 years now, and between a skate shoe and steel toed boots my whole life, these shoes are just simply amazing.

When either of my dogs clean their paws, it sounds like a backed up garborator in a clogged sink

So picked up a book recently off a great guy at the CGC forums and was surprised to find this. Didn't notice when I first looked at it, but boy, pictures can be revealing... So is this an example of puddling? Is this damaging the book? I'd post this in the appropriate forum, but I can't find it

Yup...that's puddling.
Only time will tell on the damage. I would store it upright.

Should I consider reholdering it? Perhaps even send it out for a press first?

Should I consider reholdering it? Perhaps even send it out for a press first? I wouldn't reholder it into the Frankenholder slab. I suspect they will be coming out with a new case in a year or so to fix all the Frankenholder problems and to improve their margins. If you keep it upright, the damage potential drops since you're looking at time and gravity.

You're saying there is still problems with the new-new holder? Only issue I've come across is newton rings

Newton rings and giant plastic wedges used as spacers because the case was never designed for an inner liner.
The wave damage issue was fixed with the introduction of the inner liner.

Well, I guess I'll keep an eye on my slabs then. Would suck if they developed a problem. Newton rings I can live with, but anything else, no.
BTW your avatar disappeared for me
