Why do you resort to making fun of people without ever actually having a conversation with them? I could have shredded your post on overdoses in the Coronavirus thread about overdoses a few weeks ago but didn't. Because that's not how proper, respectful dialogue works.
Grow up.
I am surprised that janet is not over on the CGC defending Bob and Randal and 500 who are being canceled (slaughtered) by old man adam, hokie and one other. so what happens? As soon as the smart team is attacked, comicdonna mike shows up...again...like clockwork, to protect them, under the bs guise of a fair and impartial moderator and threats of mod action against old man, hokie, etc. How many times did Roy get crucified, and mike let it go on and on and on, and then punishes Roy? The guy is not honorable, should resign as a moderator, and if he had any self dignity, he would admit his personal involvement in less than honorable moderating, and instigating and enabling by protecting, the members he favors. His obvious favoritism is despicable, and to have done all these years as mod, unknown to other members, is disgusting. Moderation administration should be ashamed of themselves. I am looking forward to my notification to CGC, with some suggestions, to be seriously considered. I am accepting the assuredness of same as good faith that intent. We will see, and will see if it is just more lip service. The type of prejudice that comicdonna mike exhibits as a moderator is the worse kind. It reflects very negatively on CGC. As previously stated, I won't be posting there again. Promise?

Stu, do you even know what an internet troll is? You are an internet troll. You continue to go after select people incessantly that you have decided you don't like without ever using any reason or logic in doing so. You never actually discuss what a person is saying and only talk about the person. That's trolling. That's a zero sum game with no winners.
Roy do you know what reading comprehension is? It's where you don't ignore what's actually written. I collect comics. I am on a comic chatboard. By troll definition (like the one you made up) I am not the biggest troll on this board. That would have to be someone who has no interest in comics at all and is here trolling people. Only one crusty codger fits that description. I think you were going for some big "gotcha" moment there but like your sex life it was a limp attempt and anticlimactic. OK, so that is not actually what an internet troll is.
Here it is for you:
Internet troll - Wikipedia
In Internet slang, a troll is a person who starts flame wars or intentionally upsets people on the Internet.

And I think that pretty much 100% of people outside of you will agree that this is an accurate description.
Or do you think that zillions of people conspired to change the meaning of internet troll and that you have the only true meaning?

Anyway you seem to think I care if you call me a troll by any definition. Sorry to disappoint but that don't confront me. Of course this had nothing to do with the post you quoted but I expect no less from you. And if you're trying to say Parker isn't a troll then I get to fill in another spot on your hypocrisy Bingo card.

I just checked my local internet and the “internet troll” definition hasn’t been updated since Sunday the 14th, so I don’t know what to think.

Then you will enjoy a major U.S. healthcare insurance provider notifying PCPs that it would be beneficial to consider the race of a patient, and suggesting the PCP share via a PCP profile their own race, since many patients have (according to research conducted by the healthcare insurance provider) indicated a concern that a PCP that does not understand the social nuances of the patient may not be as helpful to the patient seeking healthcare, and that there is evidence that patients of a particular race and social condition are less likely to receive equal treatment when the PCP is not of the same race and social understanding. I think part of the problem is that Western society has lost sight of how good we actually have it.
I mean, in the West, even those who are not doing so well are likely living better than 99% of the rest of the world. I heard the other day that people who make $30-40K a year are in the top 1% in the world in terms of income.
And when we lose perspective of how good we have it we start to nitpick that things that really shouldn't even register on a scale and come up with ridiculous things to disagree on. I always said that there are better ways to live than under an authoritarian rule but there are some benefits to authoritarian rule that we can learn from and one of them is that when our freedom is taken away we stop worrying about all the petty things that consume us now.
vintagecomics Roy, I think you are giving the west way too much credit; especially the US. The number of people who can't afford a $500 emergency is over 50% of the country, or somewhere close to that figure...and that was before lockdowns hit. Now, it's much worse. The "Cares Act', which represented the largest upwards transfer of wealth in the history of the world from the working class to the top 10%, is creating the equivalent of a permanent underclass in the US. WRT the notion of the west not living under authoritarian rule, that is just not true. The verdict in the Assange case has wholly made the First Amendment into a facade of democratic rights. If Section 230 bill & the Domestic Terrorist Bill are passed, the US will slide that much closer to a police state; effectively making journalism & dissent into 10 year jail sentences. However, the emphasis, via the links, are not germane to the issues and comments that Roy has stated as an opinion. I won't get into the source of the links provided, because I don't see commies behind every tree (just every other tree). The Cares Act: I am not certain you have a clear unbiased opinion, or n understanding of the care Act. Yes, I read all the links, and am familiar with the sources. Concerning the Cares Act, explain please how it is the largest upward transfer of wealth. The link sources don't, at all. Read the Congressional Record, as a source. West Authoritarian Rule: I think there is selective journalistic gymnastics to arrive at a conclusion that the West lives under authoritarian rule. Do you live in the "west"? If so, why? Domestic Terrorist Bill: This is a favorite continuing theme by journalists and micro protest groups. It does not hold up under scrutiny. The Congressional Record is our friend. Read it. Every day. It is free, it is on line, and it leaves out all the gobbledygobledness that journalists...media.....have a nasty little habit of adding unfounded assumptions to, in a silly supposed scholarly journalistic effort of resistance. Have you personally suffered? How bad was it? Emergency Affordability: This is the...again...continuing theme of an often trotted out figure (from time to time it has been 250, 700, 1,000, and even on one occasion 100) purported to be fact and is couched in just enough misleading language to have the appearance of the deluded West really being an economically exploited North Korea. Please interview 10 persons today. Then interview 10 persons tomorrow in a different location geographically. Continue this for 10 days. Ask the question: Can you afford a $500 emergency expenditure? Then ask: do you have any credit cards? Then ask: do you have health insurance? Then ask: do you own a vehicle? Then ask: are you familiar with the location of the social services offices...Federal and State and County and Municipal.....for your neighborhood? Then ask: do you have a bank account? then ask: do you know where your local courthouse is located? Lastly: ask what an emergency means to the person, considering all the social assistance availability in the West When you have done this, we can continue a discussion that will become interesting.

Correct.
I was specifically talking about bringing in race relations into medical treatment. It's kind of ridiculous and extreme.
Why why just focus on race as many are doing? There are endless intersectional divisions that are not mentioned.
Better looking people are treated differently than less attractive people.
Smarter looking people are treated differently.
Nobody is advocating for those things. Why not? Because it's much easier to group race and target that as a social justice warrior...but in the medical fields?
This goes right along with the ultra leftist theory that science itself is racist, which is actually becoming a real fight in universities. Think about that.
Science, The STEM sciences are being targeted as being racist...those are the very tools you actually CAN use and NEED to root out racism.
We're getting into a territory of nitpicking that is almost inane at times when we have it so much better in the West than 99% of the rest of the world. Those are the facts.
