Showcasing one of the biggest atrocities of all time...
Machinehead's "Supercharger".
How the band that debuted with "Burn My Eyes" had the audacity to release this POS is beyond me. It went back to the store with some BS excuse like "it skips". Just terrible.

I have no idea why I bought this. It's not even a great way to spell "Equator"

Title track from an awful album. Damn you Kerrang! for giving it a good review

Jets to Brazil's debut "Orange Rhyming Dictionary" is one of my all time favourite albums. It was a subtle mix of indie, post-hardcore and Brit-Pop (although not a British band). It's a classic.
This piece of garbage didn't deserve to be on the shelf next to ORD. The band had started going in this direction whilst touring ORD and the change was evident in the new songs they were showcasing. Much more cringe-pop, far less post-hardcore, I couldn't believe this was the same guy from Jawbreaker. Their last album "Perfecting Loneliness" was just as bad.
Four Cornered Night meet bin.

I don't think I've ever done that, but I have a few albums I've only listened to once.

Before I had responsibilities - in the days before DVD - I pretty much spent all my spare cash on CDs. A great CD would be played back-to-back, non-stop for days. A good CD would get 5-10 spins over the first week. A bad CD would be shelved after 5 spins total, never to come out of the case again, but still remain within the collection as a reminder not to waste money. Terrible CDs were just gotten rid of...

Possibly the only album I've ever bought that it took 3 sessions to get through the whole thing. Hetfield should be ashamed of himself. This one went to someone far more appreciative of its pop-rock nonsense... my mother!

Sorry, Stu, I know you like this album but I really hate it...
This one I had all of 5 minutes before selling it to a friend. I say selling, they offered me £5 for it, I gave them the CD and never bothered to chase up the money. I still have Korn's debut. It's nowhere near as bad but I never listen to it.

Pffft I'm trying to think of some, but I've never returned a disc just cause it sucked. Reville had an excellent debut disc but the second one Bleed the Sky sucked real bad. The new Tenacious D album is terrible and I love The D.

The only thing I can think of is and this is another artist if you have any tween kids is I really liked JoJo Siwa when I was like 8, 9, 10, and 11 so late last year right around Thanksgiving I think I purchased a JoJo Siwa EP. The problem is it was a digital thing. I listened to it once and was like OH NO what am I thinking. This Sucks!!!!! So I couldn't burn it or give it away or throw it away but I never listened to it again.

Of course, you going to tell me you downloaded it, aren't you? Can't very well be taking that back. Try uploading it back, maybe? There's a thought...

I used to have a rule about buying new albums/CDs. If I didn't like a minimum two songs off the record I didn't buy it. It didn't always work but it helped. It sucked back in those days because the only way you heard new music without buying blind was the radio, MTV, or if a friend bought the record. Much easier these days to sample new music, but kind of sucky for the artists.

In my 20s, living the in the 2nd World country that I do, I was solely reliant on weekly rock radio shows for exposure to new music. I had no access to satellite/cable TV and even if I had, the rock shows were limited. Our music shops weren't geared up to let customers listen to LPs/CDs before buying them and, occasionally, I'd take a risk based on a review or a band's previous work. Most of the time this paid off... I probably had a 95% hit rate. I got into some great bands that way. Unfortunately, I did manage to pick up a handful of stinkers too.

That was another way to take a chance on new music without having to spend a lot.
