Steve Borock just announced (yesterday) that CBCS will be moving to Dallas, TX as part of the Beckett merger. No date was specified.
This begs the question of grading consistency, since most graders don't earn enough to consider relocation. I would assume this means forming/training a new grading team from scratch.
This is not an insurmountable problem if addressed appropriately, but I would like to know what measures CBCS will take to maintain grading consistency both during and after the move.

They say merger, I see acquisition.

I've tried not to comment on the move until I knew more facts, but to say that this is not going well would be an understatement. Effective planning, communication and Customer Service appear to be almost entirely non-existent if you can believe the posts on the CBCS website. The Dallas move, Status updates, questions and concernsApparently, Beckett is transitioning to take control of Customer Service. linklink

I dunno. Pressing and grading within the same company is conflict of interest.
Cant tell me there's no bias

But for the trifecta, you need a major auction house to have an ownership stake in the grading company.

Wouldn't surprise me if there was some back door shenanigans at auction houses with certain individuals.
