I liked Space 1999. Unfortunately, it's another one of those shows that capitalized on the public's irrational fear of nuclear energy like the movie China Syndrome, and right in between the '73 and '79 oil crises...talk about ironic. When I re-watched those episodes, the first thing that came to mind was it seemed so much better as a kid. But it had some good storylines in some of the episodes.
I was a teenager the first time I watch Invaders. Now that was a great show for a 15 year old. It's a shame they never finished it. My mother and I watched every episode, 1 a week, from start to finish. That was in the days BBC2 always showed something sci-fi at 6:30 on a Thursday
I've never seen all the Invaders episodes, so I'm a little confused by it. But it reminds me a little of The Love War - biggest difference being alien vs alien instead of alien vs human.

Lloyd Bridges!

Yeah, and Angie Dickinson....not to mention Dominic Frontiere (The Outer Limits) doing the film score (who coincidentally did the score for The Invaders as well).

My nephews were watching reruns of Nowhere Boys. I liked it and ended up watching the first two seasons. The 3rd season wasn't very good IMO.

I have never seen Nowhere Boys but it looks awesome. I love her haircut on her but not for me. I just love the storylines and how it really is true stuff that like really goes on like at my Middle school and stuff.

I watched a few episodes of Invaders recently. It's not terrible, just a little boring. I remember Space 1999 was a bit naff but watchable. I re-watched most of those about 15 years ago. I liked Space 1999. Unfortunately, it's another one of those shows that capitalized on the public's irrational fear of nuclear energy like the movie China Syndrome, and right in between the '73 and '79 oil crises...talk about ironic. I recently DVR'd a couple Space 1999 episodes and couldn't even get through one of them. Just horrible.

My daughter is approaching that age but doesn't really watch TV much anymore. She was big into Nick shows a couple years ago (Henry Danger, Thundermans, etc) but has (thank heavens) moved on from those. We will still occasionally watch Spongebob but we don't like the newer animation style.

Regarding Star Trek.... I refuse to pay an additional fee (on top of cable) for the privilege of watching Discovery. I'm intrigued about the Picard show but not enough (yet) to consider subscribing. Frikkin' CBS All Access. You can take your streaming service and stick it in a sack. JUST PUT IT ON REGULAR TV YOU F*****S!!! Okay, I'm better now I found a very active Star Trek forum. www.trekbbs.com/There are a lot of "special" people there who like to come up with bat crazy theories about all sorts of stuff. Some of my favorites involve people trying to tie 50+ years of disparate ST "history" into a coherent continuity. It's quite comical at times.

There's technology that is way more advanced than the other series (holographic displays on everything, Spore-Drive which is faster than Warp), yet it's continuity is set before TOS. And they are taking BIG liberties with Spock's childhood and early adulthood - Captain Pike too.

Nick does a really good job of finding some very talented young actors.

They don't mesh with what came before. I wish they had never made Enterprise or Discovery. The Spore drive in particular makes zero sense. What happened to it, if it existed before the original Star Trek. The only thing I can think of is that at some point in Disco, it will be revealed to be a flawed tech and discontinued.
