Okay...the game is up and running.  Please read How to Play The VCG. It's still under construction, but it's enough to get everyone started. Most of what I need to complete is instructions on how to use the bank and the store, but most of you are already 'old-hands' at that stuff. Here are some key points to get you started:1) I think I've fixed all the big issues. I think the game will be more fun, and simpler to play. 2) Make sure you are aware that posts earn money in the 'Everything Else' category only. 3) This game earns WAY faster than the VCCU and is fully automatic. The weekly paychecks (with all their bugs) are gone - you will see interest income instead, and it pays every day you post. 4) To maximize earnings, posting a lot is good (especially at first), but posting on a daily basis is better. And there's no penalty for missing a day, other than the loss of that day's interest. 5) Donations have been eliminated. 6) Make sure you understand the 'bottoms up' and 'no hoarding' rules. 7) So, to get started, just start earning and buy ASM #30 as soon as you have funds. 8) Move your wallet funds into your saving account before you leave for the day. That way you'll earn interest on it. 9) I'll be augmenting the game, as usual, with special participation gifts and stuff. Maybe tomorrow.   Have fun! |

Well...everything seems to be working fine. Yesterday, after the game was activated, I made 19 posts in the 'Everything Else' category. This gave me $9.50 in my wallet. Before I left for the night, I deposited that $9.50 into my savings account. This morning, after my first post, I checked my bank account.  You'll see that it gave me 1% on my balance.  You may also notice that there is a small rounding error discrepancy of one cent, depending on where you look in the statement. This, along with small negative balances is a well-known bug. The coder is aware of it, but can't seem to fix it. Don't worry about it if you see it - it's never caused a problem. |

How to get your gift1) Click on the money below 2) The TCBF Forum will open in a new window. 3) Scroll to the bottom of the screen and accept. It looks like this...  4) $20 will be deposited into your savings account. 5) Close the window. 6) Now when you check your savings account, it will look something like this.   |

So, because of the 'no hoarding' and 'bottoms up' rules, I now need to purchase my first book, which will be ASM #30. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here's how it's done using the TCBF Store. Access the store, scroll to the bottom of the 'ASM Comic Books (1-30)' category and click 'Add To Cart' on the ASM 30 item.  Scroll to the top and click on the 'Basket' which shows one item inside.  The basket opens up and shows my selected item. Click 'Checkout.'  A confirmation message pops up. Click 'Puchase.'  Another confirmation message pops up. Click 'here' to see the item in the profile.  The book is now displayed in the profile.  If you click on the book, it will give you summary information.  The book is also displayed in the mini-profile.  |

I've been busy working on the new Special Adminstrative Items section of the TCBF Store. Since there are 30 comic books in the Prescribed Collection, these icons allow you to replace individual ASM comic book icons to make your profile less busy. I'm still working on the Veteran Collector image, so that is TBD. The cool thing about the VCG as compared to the VCCU (at least from my perspective ), is that I don't have to get involved in this part of the game. The player turns in his books to the store for a 100% refund and buys the icons as needed. When he has completed ASM 1-30, he trades the icons in and buys the Veteran Collector Badge. Boom shakalakalaka!  The only time I need to get involved is with his new collection goals. PS - I forgot to mention that I refund the entire $4,898.25 amount spent on acquiring the Prescribed Collection after the Veteran Collector Badge is purchased.  |

Here are the players that were involved:  Here are my thoughts: 1) These people were very instrumental in figuring out how the game is best played. 2) The VCCU was at least twice as difficult to earn money as the new VCG game. So, given the above, I think it might be easiest and most fair if: A) Jimmers and Bats are awarded the Veteran Collector Badge. B) All other players are awarded the ASM 2-30 icons so that they only need to work on getting ASM #1. If any of the players were closer to completing the collection than that, they can let me know in this thread and I'll give them an appropriate cash award in addition to the icons. Note - Some of the players may not care, or may not return, or may not even know this forum (or this game) is up and running again. I don't think it matters. This way I can take care of business now, and if I'm not around at a later time when I'm busy, they can play the VCG if they want. Let me know what you think.

They are now allowed to collect whatever they want.   Also, a $4,898.25 refund for the Prescribed Collection was deposited into their bank accounts. At 1%/day interest, this means they can earn almost $50 in interest for every day they make a single post. This adds up quickly. 2) Everyone else on the list received the ASM 2-30 icons. This means they only need to collect ASM #1 to get the Veteran Collector badge.    3) To get your icons (in case you forgot), click on the far-right button of the game bar in the lower-left of your screen.  Then click 'View Request.'  Then click 'Accept Gift.'  The icons will then appear in your profile. Below is just for my reference.{Spoiler}

Anyway, I REALLY liked that game and I think others did too. Unfortunately, it was lost in the shuffle before this forum was closed down for awhile. It was also flawed: there were bugs in the software that the coder couldn't or wouldn't fix, there were issues with donations that I didn't foresee that upset some people, there were issues with the amount of time required for me to support it, and it was probably overly complex. I think this was one of those deals where you have to Beta-Site the game before you actually get a sense of how it should be structured and played...which we did.
