It was a bust today. The "small stack of comics from the 1950s" was gone when I got there. There was no pic of the comics in the listing so I'm just going to assume they were really Archies from the 70s, or maybe some Classics Illustrated.
The other sale I went to was verging on a hoarder home, but it was packed with "collectibles" rather than random garbage. I skipped all the action figures and Star Wars/Star Trek stuff as I've found when I buy out of my comfort zone I make bad purchases.
Ended up with two ERB paperbacks, an Asimov novel, and the complete Scifi works of HG Wells in one volume. 5 bucks total, just some reading material for my work commute.
That's it for now, the train station flea market has moved to its indoor location until spring and the comic guy said he'll be there with 18 boxes "we've never seen before". That's tomorrow morning - we'll see!

That HG Wells collection sounds terrific, especially for the price you paid.

Thanks Bats!
I always marvel at how big a bargain used books are. People give them away practically and you can get hours of enjoyment out of them for comparative peanuts! I love a bargain!

2024 - Firmly in the midst of a midlife crisis, I've stopped reading Batman and actually become Batman. Patrolling the streets of my home town in a black Ford Escort with a couple of fins stuck on the trunk, I fight crime wherever it may be. Of course, I went through several gruelling years at the gym, and had to beg my wife to sew me a costume, but it was all worth it in the end. Fear me, for I am The Batman!

Very true. I once picked up the complete works of Poe for $6...

Skipped the dollar book guy at the indoor flea yesterday morning. I woke up and couldn't be bothered to get up and go!

2026 - The year I found Action Comics #1 wedged between two copies of Batman. Such a shame the value of the book plummeted to $10 after some guy found 50,000 NM copies in his basement.
