Thank you Sometimes I feel wrong posting all of them, but then feeling wrong feels wrong. Now I feel a little encouraged to share my latest upgrades, though one of them is probably years too late. I wouldn't have been able to do it then, however. Feeling wrong feels wrong.I'm going to remember and use that.Good one. And we love checking out your items(was going to say stuff, but ) Thanks It's hard to put into words, so after 10 minutes of trying (and typing), I'll stop. And items/stuff... the same thought was my first

Maybe spend some time collecting affordable books, learn how to grade and detect restoration, learn proper storage, etc. before venturing into the conspicuous consumption arena.

If I suspect his age correctly, that stage isn't necessary because he knows all he needs to know. Until he needs to know, of course. New Millennials are like this at work. Can't teach them squat because they already know. So we feel ZERO motivation to try. Of course when they don't get the job done, it's, "I didn't know." Next day, rinse and repeat.

Noob collectors with money. linkHe got suckered pretty bad on this. Tear sear and piece added to a color copy? Someone worked at making this look like a legitimate restored book.

$300 purchase in 1998 plus another $100 in 2016 for Stan's sig. If he did at some point hold or read through the book, maybe he thought the cover paper's texture/weight was normal for a 1962 book?

Could be. I can picture him looking through the book, "Gee, maybe they should use this paper for the inner page too. They're horrible."

Likely could be sold for more than four hundred dollars now, right? I would think so. If he were to separate the cover from the book, and have it still retain it's yellow label, then I think he should do well. I think as is it's still a +$600 book but he may get more if they were separated.

The signature's on the cover repro though.Do you mean have the cover detatched and just as a loose wrap around the comic? Would they slab just a reproduction cover with Stans signature?I guess if they do just loose pages...
