Did you find that cracker? No, not me, I have a copy already. I only noticed it b/c of the pink "sold" box and CGC in the title.

I click that link from time to time but haven't been quick enough to catch any good deal. Me too. I used to hit that every day but never quick enough I used to check over at Comic Link's site. While they don't list as frequently as MCS, they had some incredible deals on some books that were snatched up quick. The only time I got a great deal from MCS is when I received an alert for a book I had put on my watch list. I was willing to pay upwards of $200-250 for the book and wound up getting it at about $12.

I set my want list for a Gold Key Scooby Doo 1 and one day I get into work, check my emails and bam, there it was and in high grade. I couldn't click the buy button fast enough. It set me back a couple hundred but that was still a deal back in 2012 and now that book has skyrocketed.

A raw mid grade copy sold in auction last week by a non comic seller at about $180.Ungraded, looked like a 3.5-4.- to me...4.0-5.0 with a spit n shine(press). www.ebay.com/itm/Scooby-Doo-Comic-Gold-Key-1-1970-/323729700186?hash=item4b5fcb355a%3Ag%3AXakAAOSw0IBchHRZ&nma=true&si=1MhkCfgFY8Z 8z7gZMNjSxyo%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Yeah , it started picking up steam in around 2014-2015.Back in around 2014-2015 I was able to buy 3 copies of this book for peanuts. All from "non-comic" sellers on eBay. One was titled correctly.IRC, and was listed with 1-2 other books. Won in auction for less than $20 (shipped), around a 4.0. Other 2 were mixed in with large lots. One was in a lot of IIRC 200,300 or 400 books that I worked out a deal with and paid .50 cents a book for all. The lot had a bunch of off brand late silver/bronze....lots of Archie titles.Mostly in the VG to VG/FN range...some F+/F/VF books too. I recall selling a Josie #34 for a whopping $1 out of that lot, filed into my dollar boxes....thinking I was probably up. And yeah, I realized later that Josie 34 in mid grade was an easy $100+ buy it now sale,at that time. A few other books I up and sold low out of my $5 boxes, as well that are now good for $50 in mid grade...(2nd app josie/1st cover etc). May have been a Madhouse #22 in there or Pals n Gals 23, but I think (or hope) I was aware of the signifigance of those books back than. Third Scooby copy I cant remember, but I know it cost me less than $20. Point being, when these books blow up, even dirty ass flippers like myself can't find them anymore.Anyway, my latest score from MCS was a Josie 34 , listed on ebay about a month and a half ago, stock image scan.....came up in my search/saved items list. Hit the BIN,for like $12 shipped, thinking it'd be a book I could pop on eBay for $45 and it'd sell in a month or 2. Maybe it'd be a nicer copy that I could dry clean and press , pop on eBay for $90, as MCS grading is usually around a point lower than CGC or CBCS's grading would be, or in line directly. Book arrived from MCS, it was severely undergraded. It has a long box bend (spine virtually tick free, the entire right edge (about and inch and a half) of the book is bent. No color breaking, that is the reason why the book ws hit so hard by MCS. Gonna sub it to CGC, after I clean it up and pop it in the old tupperware and toaster. Wost case scnerario it will get an 8.0-8.5 from CGC. It has a few very faint stains on the back cover. Not from water, only visible if angled in good light. I should be able to get most of that gunk off via dry cleaning. Not in a rush to work on it and sub it. If lucky, I'll nab a 9.2/9.4 from CGC.
