We see the super hero tattoo threads all the time and I always say I have none. Now that I think of it, I do sort of have a comic tattoo. So... Remember this guy from the back of your 90's(?) Marvels? That's where I got it. Flipped for your convenience. That's a good piece of art you've got there. I have no tattoos. I just don't have the canvas...

That commercial looks like it's 10,000 years old.
Is that because the quality of the film has degraded over the years, or digital transfer, or what?

It was probably copied from old videotape. That's a guess though. You can find lots of youtube videos of 80s commercials transferred from old VHS tapes dubbed from TV. Quality is about the same as that Pepsi ad.
My dad has tons of old VHS of movies taped from TV in the 80s and 90s and yeah quality can be crappy

Remember when Radio Shack sold actual electronics? Components, circuit boards, stuff to construct a ham radio or build a TV from scratch?

Trash 80 (Radio Shack TRS-80) I've said it before and I'll say it again. Mutton chops are a poor facial hair choice

Remember when Radio Shack sold actual electronics? Components, circuit boards, stuff to construct a ham radio or build a TV from scratch? We used to have Tandy, which sold the same sort of items. We now have Maplin, which is the "modern" equivalent. Bought so much AV stuff from these places in the past which is now redundant and sitting in a box in my garage... Headphone splitters, AV cables, input switchers, etc. I once had my TV, CD player, radio, DVD player and MiniDisc player all linked into one ampilifer via a multi-channel input switcher... "Look... Look... If you press this button here, you can switch over to the MiniDisc player!"Modern Technology

Remember when Radio Shack sold actual electronics? Components, circuit boards, stuff to construct a ham radio or build a TV from scratch? Boy...do I. I was in there all the time when I was a kid. I finally threw out one of my first projects a couple years ago - a crystal radio built from components. It had a ground wire, an antenna, a variable capacitor tuner, and an old carbon headphone my brother gave me. And, of course, it required absolutely no power source (battery or otherwise) because of the crystal. I also remember their 'battery of the month club.' No purchase necessary, and if you joined you got a card which they punched every time you took your free monthly battery. I always went for the 9v because they were the most expensive at the time.
