Speaking of Batgirl, she's currently doing an online wordscape for 6 year olds (it's a bit like a crossword). One of the words she had to guess was "unto". What 6 year old is going to know the word "unto"?!
At least it's not "hitherto".
Side note: Going back to what I said about comic accuracy, I think there's a case to be made why fans like their favorite source material to be done justice. We loved the original material because the characters meant something to us. We fell in love with those characters with the personality we recognized and respected. If you adapted that and turn the characters into someone else we could barely recognize and certainly don't respect (like say, a self-entitled millennial who skips detention, *cough*), then you can't blame us for not liking the adaptations. We don't like them because they're not the people we grew up with and fell in love with.
One minute giving his thoughts on the latest affairs of Spider-Man, the next telling us we're all a bunch of mindless sheep for appreciating the works of the great Steve Carell. Ah, what a sad loss it is
