How Would a Xenomorph Wear a Hat? It has to be #2.

Being an Alien fan, it's terrible. But to each their own. People don't usually agree with me With 'Prometheus' I still saw a possible bridge connecting to the Alien story we all know, and I'm getting the impression that Covenant is smashing that bridge. Does it seems so off course that a connection would be too 'shark jumpy' in the next (and I'm assuming last) film?

There is a story there, but it's so badly portrayed and written that you don't get to see it. The only thing holding these "prequels" to the real story is the Alien. And in Covenant, the only thing that holds it up is the look of the creature. That's it. It's terribly flimsy.

Prometheus and Covenant made 3 look good. I mean, really, really good. And the original 3 with the chestburster coming out of the dog, not a cow. spineless director.
At least Ridley Scott was smart enough to realize just how badly he up with Covenant and won't be making all the sequels he wanted to. he is from walking away from the source material and going Hollywood. He went against the grain in the 70's, hiring a freak to do concepts (HR Giger, who is amazing). Then pulling this genetic BS Hollywood has been cranking out for years. Lost all sense of tension, fear, enticing empathy for the characters and creating a creature that inspires dread and nightmares. Hollywood is so scared to make a real horror movie because emulate what they see on screen. Get a grip society.
A TV show would be such a waste of resources it boggles the imagination. They got away with a video game because it was made by fans FOR fans. It didn't make a load of money because the original Alien didn't make a load of money. It's a specialized taste, only certain types of people would appreciate it. THAT'S real storytelling. Not finding a target audience but CREATING one.
the machine. Use your imagination, Hollywood and crank out that has nothing to do with demographics or making profit, just tell some outrageous stories.
Alien, and Predator for that matter, have so much potential to have a cult following like Star Trek or Star Wars among horror fans, it would be the 80's slasher phenomenon all over again.

...Fake Ripley was hanging from a rope on the transporter shooting at the alien.
Other than that, it sucked.

Thankfully I've totally forgotten the movie and all I can remember from Covenant is how hot Charlize Theroin was in skin tight clothes.
Has anyone heard anything about the Weaver sequel? She's getting up there in years, they should make it soon before it's too late.

Not heard anything. What we need is an AvP sequel with both Arnie and Sigourney. And like you said... quick
