This ain't cool! Not too fond of these specialty labels, particularly when the book has nothing to do with the image on the label. Looks entirely too cluttered as well imo. Can anyone enlighten me as to how restoration earns a Universal grade? Maybe I haven't been paying attention to whatever changes are happening over there. Is the new CGC motto "Buy the label, not the book!"?

What the hell is that white behind that "9.2"? CGC voluntarily displayed this at their booth? Wow.

That appears to be a backing board I was thinking the micro chamber paper sliced through the cover(s), but I don't think they're that big. Whatever the hell it is, the whole thing is a big FAIL! Either that, or the interior is an 11.0- Actually it looks like someone simply slipped a mid grade copy (w/board) in an empty case. I do this with a couple books I have that were never slabbed, using empty slab cases I haven't yet thrown away. If the case survives the liberation, I often save it and use it like bag/board.

Here's another one: I wonder how CGC would label the same restored book if it's a Pedigree copy? The ASM looks better in the slab than the MS#5 did IMO.

Someone in the thread found the original on HA, I think it's a 6.5. An outside company made the banner, but who at CGC approved it?
