Here's the story on these; I'm hesitant to call them 'stats' because I'm not sure what the process was back in 1969. I have a feeling they're Xerox copies of the actual stats. {Spoiler} Either way, Mike purchased these from someone in 1969 (he can't remember who, so it probably wasn't somebody amazing ). He purchased it because it was signed by Jack Kirby ("page" 1), who had just brought him on as his inker. Once his, he asked JK to inscribe it, and he did on "page" 14. fwiw the sigs are original and not part of the copy- evident when held to light. A couple years ago Mike was having a garage sale and someone familiar with his career mentioned a desire for a Kirby sig. Mike mentioned these even though they were never part of the sale and the guy said he'd get back to him later in the week with a decision. Months went by without contact so Mike offered them to me, feeling better about it knowing they'd be a treasured part of my Royer collection. Obviously he had nothing to do with the art, but it is a part of his history with The King, and so I feel it belongs with the rest of it. If for some reason I have to sell my comics, it is THIS collection (signed art, comics, posters, prints etc.) that will remain no matter what. Mike is such a good friend, and the thought of this collection being broken up after I'm gone worries the hell out of me. I'm hoping my family will truly honor my wishes that it remains intact. Anyway- The iconic FF #12 signed by Jack Kirby x2 What a pain it was to scan, straighten, and crop these.

Just found this in storage The sunset version I gave to my sister, who sent me the image. I was happier with the night version. Bob Ross would have approved.

I woke up with a strange craving for Avengers 164-166. Probably my favorite short run, within my (definitely) favorite run of #157-177. The art from Byrne/Marcos was outstanding, as well as Perez/Marcos. Just from my casual observation of the OA world of comics, I feel Pablo Marcos is one of the underrated inkers. I can only imagine the patience required to ink the interiors for The Avengers Mansion in #160 and surrounding issues. Not quite as amazing as Mike Royer inking AND lettering 3 pages per day while working on Fourth World titles, but amazing nonetheless. Anyway, for me these 3 issues, more than any others, are still able to fill me with the same joy and magic that they did way back when

New England is playing like they usually do. Atlanta has a very strong "Team of Destiny" thing going on.
Should be a great game. I'd love for our new (rumored) Head Coach to have a ring to inspire the team.

BTW, I finally alphabetized my scans so I'll most likely post books I've already posted. As always, I apologize for the Milgrom art.

I probably should have when I was helping him pack, but he moved back to Mississippi. Surprising since he lost his collection v1.0 to Katrina. Years ago my dad and I drove there non stop (31 hours- my dad drove 8 of them) because we didn't want to spend days doing it, and didn't want to be at the mercy of the Airlines. Now, I suffer after a 5 hour trip. My Brother's in worse shape than me x10. It's quite possible we may never see each other again simply due to the miles between us I'm not a big fan of Skype, but at least we have that.

At 31 hours, I guess it must be about 1500? I remember doing 500 in about 12 hours and that was bad enough. When you say "Katrina" did you mean the Hurricane?

When I did that trip, I started from Sun City, CA (which I might add is 12 hours from where I live, so you can tack that on to the miles- with a night's sleep). The distance is 2,525 miles from where I live. Yeah, it was Hurricane Katrina. I have a dvd copy somewhere he made of the whole ordeal. Oddly surreal for me seeing the footage and hearing his voice. He grabbed his box with the lid marked VALUABLE, and sacrificed the thousands of others. Turns out he put the lid on the wrong box
