I contacted CGC yesterday about slabs I had done at WW Philly last week that are showing signs of waviness and a few with very bad newton rings not even a week after being slabbed. I was told they'll reholder them and press the wavy books and ship them back for free. Now I'm not against pressing but my question is are they doing this to all wavy books without disclosure or are they offering it as an option to correct their mistakes? I know a lot of collectors are against pressing especially OO books so I can definitely see this being another huge problem with CGC. Has anyone else been told this? Also since being aware of this thread I made sure to examine every book I had slabbed at WW and NONE showed waviness and they all looked good besides the books with rings so to see that most are already showing wavy signs is pretty disturbing.
Here's a few and I'm 100% certain they were completely flat when I received them and I've been keeping an eye on them and they look worse in hand. I know that some modern books are wavy to begin with. The Edge of Spider-Verse is a perfect example of those types of books but i know it didn't look that bad that last week. These are definitely being effected by the creep.
