Lin Harrell May 21 at 12:28pm... Please take a look at the 7 pictures attached. Look at the top edge of the books. I just got these [and 23 other books] back from CGC. They were pressed by CCS Paper [CGC] before being graded by CGC. They are sealed in the new “floating book” CGC cases. In these examples you can see the top of the books look warped, wavy, or rippled [not flat]. Almost like the book is wider than the bag it was placed in. I do not see this happening with more modern books. The modern books lay flat in the case. ...

Lin Harrell ... Good points 　 and I agree on the new holder putting to much pressure on the books. I removed a couple of the books from the new holders and the book is "pressed" between the top and bottom of the holder. There is a sheet of Mylar placed on the front and back of the book. My concern is not only with the wavy-ness and warping of all 25 books I received last week ... but with the constant pressure on the books. Comics are wider at the staples ... the new holder / case is pressing the book until the full book [from staples to edge] is making full contact with the the top and bottom of the new holder / case. I had some annuals graded and you can see and feel the new case bowing out as the book is pressed under the plastic. I just took a quick pic to attach. Wish I had a longer straight edge here, but you get the idea. The case is bowed up in the middle [both front and back].

In this instance, there have been a few books that have had a problem with the mylar inside the holder having a "wavy" factor.

Bradley Bradley Lin, I've not really been part of the design or QC process, so I can't say for sure. But I've been told that the wavy-ness issue appears to have been resolved.

Lin Harrell Yeah .... I received 25 CGC graded books this week. 23 of them on Thursday. 2 days ago. All in the new floating cases. I'm always sad when I ask about a problem and the manufacter says, "Yup, that's a known problem." I want to say, "WT? ... BUT you just sold me this". Now what do i do? ... and what do the collectors do who haven't noticed the problem yet? But mostly ... What do I do?

Lin Harrell I'm waiting to hear back from CGC. They have not said I can send any of them back to be placed in a new holder. I'll wait and see what they say.
