The sci-fi project is thought to focus on "a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding".
Interstellar is a co-production from Paramount and Warner Bros, with Steven Spielberg and Lynda Obst among the producers.
Spielberg had Jonathan Nolan - Christopher Nolan's brother - write a script based on physicist Kip S. Thorne's theory that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel. However, Christopher Nolan signed a deal as producer and director at the start of 2013, after Spielberg passed on the opportunity to direct.
The Dark Knight Rises director has also reportedly revised his brother's script to incorporate an original idea.
Interstellar already stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, and is due to be released on November 7, 2014.

Dark Knight Rises, Prestige, and Inception co-star Michael Caine is going to reteam with Christopher Nolan for the director's sci-fi film project Interstellar. He joins Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Anne Hathaway.
Directed and co-written by Christopher Nolan (“Inception,” “The Dark Knight” Trilogy), the production will travel the globe and utilize a mixture of 35mm anamorphic and IMAX film photography to bring to the screen a script based on the combination of an original idea by Nolan and an existing script by Jonathan Nolan, originally developed for Paramount Pictures and producer Lynda Obst. The new script chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
I liked the start of the movie, then I got bored, and then I ejected all memory of this movie around the time the protagonist found himself in his daughters bookcase. I had totally forgotten that Matt Damon was in it
"If it's loud, and you need just that little bit more, mine goes to 11""Yeah but, couldn't you just make 10 louder?""But these all go to 11"
