I heard Iron Maiden's Seventh Son of a Seventh Son this morning. I like it, but it should be shorter. It sounds padded to death, presumably because they feel they need a 10 min + song on every album since Powerslave.
Steve Harris's songs are imaginative, until you reach the chorus. Bruce repeats Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 8 frickin' times. I never understood why his choruses are so dull. Can't he think of more words?
Try something like:
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, All of mankind live as one, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Pave the towards Kingdom Come, Or will mankind be undone? Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Civilized world overrun, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
And then there's Quest For Fire. The first line in the song suggests he didn't even see the film.
In a time when dinosaurs walked the Earth... Huh? Was he watching Land Of The Lost?

Okay, NOW I have a problem with 87.9! I get in and hear the end of a hair band song I dont know and then Sabbath EV150 starts to drone. Right into Mob Rules right? Wrong! It cuts off right at the "tingly" part and then Easy Money by Billy Joel plays I almost drove off the road The last song I heard was In The Light by Led Zep which I hadn't heard in a while. I'm not making this up, I swear. Tonight I heard: Sympathy for the Devil - Motorhead cover Neighbors - Rolling Stones Weekend Warriors - Ted Nugent Some Bob Seger song (not one of the 50 they play on the radio) Mob Rules - Dio Sabbath - No EV150 intro, right into it!Rock It- Def Leppard AA XXX - Peaches Yup, Peaches.

Bats Does or did Foghat have much of a following in the Homeland? Who?
Yes, I believe so but I would've been too young in their heyday. I didn't start taking much notice of music until about 1980.

It was a little freaky, being days apart and the timing. I think he reads this thread... I'm thinking he played the Heavy Metal release of the song- Slightly different and without E5150, and inferior to the Mob Rules release.

This one's fun to play on GH, and harder to play than it sounds.
