Original
Cover
I have always preferred the Beatles version. It has a more upbeat jaunty quality that is a bit lacking in the Berry version and George Harrison's vocals are better.

The granddaddy of all "the cover is better than the original" songs: Oh yeah, definitely on that one Upon further review, Hendrix covering Dylan's "All Along the Watchtower" may be the granddaddy of all "cover better than the original". But that was Hendrix, he did the same with Killing Floor and Wild Thing. The Monterey version of Killing Floor is fricking awesome.

You know I love Slayer, but this cover sounds like crap to me.

Many times the line between original and cover becomes indistinct, especially with collaborative efforts. 'Superstition' is one of those songs. Technically recorded first by Jeff Beck (Beck, Bogert & Appice), but due to delays released first by Stevie Wonder. In the end, the song would not exist without both Wonder and Beck, and both versions are smokin' hot.
Original (sort of)
Cover (sort of)

JJ kills it...gives it life. Original Cover JJ wouldn't have had much of a solo career without cover songs
