Nobody is a bigger John Byrne FF fan than me (or so I thought), but collecting an entire run in CGC graded NM 9.8 is well, obsessive, right?? Not to mention costly.

I couldn't collect my want list in those grades. I doubt I'd want to. The occasional gem in a sea of VF/NM's is cool for me.

You need to have a lot of disposable income to collect this way. But I do enjoy watching videos like this, seeing the extreme collector's will go.

I've been cracking,trading,giving away all my slabs.Bah.Keeping some real expensive books in there,but besides a few real old label,red,first gen stuff,I release the hostages.

Nah,some ninny would pay good money for it. I paid $40 for my 'Tec #686 9.9 seven short years ago, but fans (or the people paying for comics) have changed a lot in those short years. I often wonder what kind of attention it would get, but like my 9.6 ASM #148 Double Cover, it's a cool novelty item (the ASM is way cooler). I prefer to keep it. |
